On behalf of the administration of Peak Preparatory, I am pleased to introduce you to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP). Becoming an IB MYP school is typically a 4-7 year process and we are steadily working to reach this important goal. Peak Preparatory is currently considered an ‘IB Candidate Status’ school upon our submission in April 2010 of Application A. At this time, Peak is working on Application B to be submitted in October of 2011.

The IB Middle Years Program in grades 6-10 requires the mastery of eight domains of learning – English, History, Science, Math, Foreign Language, Physical Education, Technology and the Arts.   A key MYP belief is that all students can be taught to be independent problem-solvers with strong study skills. Each discipline supports the development of skill sets that help students blossom into critical thinkers with strong work ethics.  MYP is characterized by three fundamental concepts: Communication, Holistic learning and Intercultural Awareness.
